Delete your Suna Health account

Last updated: 2026-10-14

This page is for anyone who wants to delete their Suna account and the data we hold under it, whether or not they still have the Suna app installed. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

It is written for the Suna app for iOS and Android and for suna.health. One Suna login spans both, so deleting the login removes everything held under it in the app and on the website.

Want a copy first? In the app, Profile, then Data and privacy, then Export your data gives you one download of everything the app holds about you. Do it before you delete: nothing can be recovered afterwards.

Two ways to delete

  1. In the app. Open Profile, then Account details, then Delete account, and confirm. The app removes its own data about you (your profile and photo, onboarding answers, gut log and meal photos, programme progress, assistant conversations, support messages, exports and notification token) and signs you out on every phone. To remove the login itself as well, use step 2.
  2. On the web, without the app. Go to suna.health/account/delete, sign in with the email address you use in the app (we email you a sign-in link), read what will happen, tick the box and confirm. This deletes the login and everything under it, the app's data included.

If you cannot sign in or no longer have access to that email address, email echo@suna.health from any address and tell us what you can about the account. We will check it is yours before deleting anything.

What is deleted

  • Your Suna login: the email address or the Apple or Google sign-in it was made with.
  • Your profile, your profile photo and your onboarding answers.
  • Your gut log, with every meal, drink, how-you-feel entry and meal photo.
  • Your programme progress and how you felt after each session.
  • Your conversations with the in-app assistant.
  • Our database copy of the messages you sent to support from the app.
  • Any data export you requested and the notification token for your phone.
  • The link between your login and any Suna device, and your place on the waitlist if your device has not shipped. Any developer API keys you made are revoked.
  • Your waitlist record on the website is kept only as an anonymised marker: your email address, delivery address (which carries your name and phone number), click ids and the pages that brought you here are removed from it, and the same email address is cleared from our records of emails sent to you.

What happens to money

  • A reservation or order that has not shipped is cancelled and refunded in full to the card you paid with, before the login goes. Allow 5 to 10 days for it to reach you. If the refund cannot be made, nothing is deleted and the page tells you to email us.
  • A device that has shipped is not refunded here; returns follow our terms. Any membership is cancelled, so a deleted account is never charged again.
  • Want to keep your reservation but close the app account? Email echo@suna.health instead of deleting.

What we keep, and why

  • Payment records at Stripe and our copy of them, for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • A record that a deletion happened: internal ids and the outcome, never your name or email.
  • A de-identified copy of your structured records, for research: your gut log, onboarding answers and wellness scores, with each date replaced by a count of days since you signed up and a new random id in place of yours. It holds no name, email, photo, free text, chat or device id, so nothing in it links back to you.
  • Usage and crash data in PostHog is not yet removed automatically: email echo@suna.health and we remove it.
  • Copies of support messages in our inbox, until you ask us to delete them.
  • Backups of our database, each kept for a week, so a deleted record is gone from them within eight days.
  • What our providers keep under their own notices, for example Anthropic for assistant questions and meal photos, or Resend for the emails it delivered. See the privacy policy for what each receives.

How long it takes

  • The app's own deletion and the removal of the login happen at once when you confirm. There is no waiting period and no way back.
  • Refunds take 5 to 10 days to reach your card.
  • Backups expire within eight days.
  • A request by email is handled by a person; we reply when it is done. If something fails on the web, nothing is reported as deleted that was not, and the page tells you to try again or email us.
