The science behind Suna

Wellness-grade insight into your own digestive patterns.

Built by an NHS doctor UCL researcher and an engineer. Worn as a small patch on the abdomen. Runs for days, captures the act of digestion, learns your patterns in the background.

What Suna measures

Suna combines several non-invasive physiological signals to understand how your gut is behaving across a day, a meal, a night.

How we validate

Suna is built by an NHS doctor UCL researcher and an engineer. Methods are reviewed internally as we develop them. After our validation study process, results will be published here.

What Suna is not

Not a medical device. Suna is a wellness product. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. Speak to a clinician for medical advice.

Not a microbiome test. Suna does not sample stool, sequence DNA, or count bacteria. The microbial census in a one-off lab kit and a continuous wearable answer different questions.

Not a toilet camera. Suna takes no images. There is no fixture to install. It travels with you, on your body, anywhere you go.

Where Suna comes from

At its core, Suna is built in London by an NHS doctor UCL researcher and an engineer with a wider team of advisors, scientists, NHS doctors. See the core team.
