Roles
Every application is read and kept on file even if now isn't the right time.
Founding Operations Associate
London, in personRight hand to two founders building a hardware, software and media company. You run the company behind the company, and you sit close enough to the founders to learn how every decision gets made.
- Money: invoices, bills and the payment run, ready for a founder to approve.
- The books with our accountants, monthly and quarterly.
- Payroll, benefits and people admin, first form to last payslip.
- The dates that keep us legal: filings, renewals, insurance, right-to-work. You own the dates and the evidence; the director signs.
- The office: building, people, deliveries, kit, health and safety.
- Onboarding and offboarding: working on day one, nothing left open at the end.
- Contracts and suppliers: a register that matches what was signed, renewals flagged early, suppliers checked before payment.
- The founders' inboxes and calendars when they are underwater: triage, drafts, follow-ups, prep, travel.
- Customer success, from order to device on: set-up, first weeks, a lost delivery, a return, a question that needs a human. Our voice, and what they tell us comes back to the team.
- The automation of all of the above: agents and pipelines that chase invoices, reconcile the books, draft replies and watch the dates, so the manual job shrinks every month.
- Whatever we have not thought of yet. There is no ops department, you are it, and the remit grows as fast as you can carry it.
- You have run ops, finance admin or a chief-of-staff desk at a small company, or come from consulting, banking or a fund and want the other side. You liked the parts others avoid.
- Exact with money and dates. A wrong bank detail or a missed filing is not small to you.
- Short, clear emails. You keep the thread.
- AI tools, properly. Claude Code is your working day; you automate a chore rather than repeat it.
- You want to be in the room where it is decided, not in a back office.
- You learn by proximity: two technical founders, their calendars, inboxes, mistakes and investors, and you want to see all of it.
- Good with people, not just paperwork. A customer, a landlord, a creator and an accountant get the same straight, warm version of you.
Founding ML Engineer
You turn raw acoustic and time-series signals from the body into things people can read and act on. This is the hard, unsolved centre of the company.
- The full modelling pipeline: noisy, unstructured real-world sensor data in, actionable insight out.
- Signal processing on continuous data: extracting clean, robust features from continuous time-series and acoustic streams (DSP, filtering, audio embeddings).
- Edge-to-cloud architecture: models that run on-device (resource-constrained audio and sensor processing) and on the backend, plus the judgement of what goes where.
- Agent context and memory: building the harness that feeds our agent the right things at the right time. Good context and memory are most of the product.
- Ground truth validation: how we validate that what we tell people is actually true. Rigour is the product.
- Minimum MSc (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, EE, Acoustics, ML or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or JAX).
- Deep expertise in acoustic signal processing (spectrograms, audio transformers) and time-series analysis (continuous physiological data, sequence modelling).
- Experience deploying ML models on resource-constrained edge devices (C/C++, TinyML, RTOS or mobile neural engines).
Founding Firmware Engineer
For SF office onlyYou own the code that lives on the device itself. Reading the body around the clock, on a tiny battery, never losing a night of data.
- Firmware: sensor drivers, on-device data pipeline, power management, FOTA.
- BLE that syncs reliably in the real world.
- Every hour of battery life out of the hardware without dropping a sample.
- You have shipped embedded code on constrained, battery-powered hardware and lived with the consequences.
- Devices in the field, soldering-iron side projects and open source drivers count more than a CV.
Founding Electrical Engineer
For SF office onlyYou own the electronics end to end: schematic, layout, RF and antenna. Every board spin in-house, with a radio that survives being worn on skin.
- Schematics and architecture: component selection, block diagrams, power and battery budgets.
- PCB layout: placement, stack-up, manufacturing documentation and supplier conversations.
- The RF and antenna work: simulation, matching and tuning against a body, not a test bench.
- Certification-ready design: built for CE, FCC and battery certification from the first schematic, and you walk each board through the lab yourself.
- You have taken consumer electronics from schematic to production and have the failed boards to prove it.
- RF and antenna are your normal work, not a black box you hand to someone else.
- Small is your default: wearables, hearables, sensors, boards that fight for every square millimetre.
Founding Mechanical Engineer
For SF office onlyYou own the physical object: mechanical design, industrial design and the tooling that turns both into something people wear around the clock.
- Mechanical construction: DFM, DFA, materials and tolerance stacks.
- Industrial design: form factor, comfort, look and feel. A device worn on skin has to earn its place there.
- Tooling and production: injection moulding, toolmakers, manufacturing partners. You commission tools, you do not just draw them.
- The skin interface: adhesives, materials and comfort across days of continuous wear.
- The mechanical structures our sensing depends on: cavities, seals and membranes.
- You have shipped a physical consumer product and watched real people drop it, sweat on it and wear it.
- You know what a mould tool costs, takes and forgives. Tooling is familiar ground, not a handoff.
- Equally fluent in CAD, on a factory floor, and in an argument about a 0.2mm wall thickness.
Founding Growth
You own how people find Suna. Every channel, from a reel shot on your phone to a Meta campaign that scales, and the numbers that say which one earned its place.
- Channels: we live on short form today. You take us into everything we have not touched yet, newsletters, podcasts, communities, creators, and above all long form, which starts with you. Try them, read what each one does for us, double down on what works.
- Long form: a YouTube channel from zero. Founder interviews, deep dives, the videos that explain something this new properly. You hold the camera and you cut the edit.
- Paid: Meta ads from the first test to real spend. Creative, audiences, landing pages, the cost of a customer, and knowing when to push and when to kill.
- The US: how Americans buy, which creators they trust, and what lands there that would not land here. You learn that market inside out.
- Scale: what worked at a hundred customers has to work at ten thousand. You build the machine, not just the first post.
- The numbers behind all of it. What it costs to reach someone, who converts, who stays, and what we change on Monday because of it.
- You have grown something real before: an account, a channel, a product, a list. You can show us the numbers.
- You have run paid ads with a budget you were accountable for, and you can explain exactly what you would do differently.
- Equal parts creative and operator: frame the shot, write the hook, then read the dashboard and decide.
- You subconsciously keep up with the latest trends. Chronically online is a plus here.
Smart Generalist
The one role that is always open. For people who do not fit into any box: excellent at one thing, and willing to wander into all the rest.
- A real patch of an early hardware, media and software company, end to end. Nobody hands you a spec.
- ML, full-stack web, firmware, mobile, design, content, ops: wherever you go too far in.
- Your own work in production. There is no QA department. Your name is on it.
- What you own grows as fast as you can carry it.
- You have built something before anyone asked. The last person we hired for this turned up with a working app for us.
- You have a niche you go too far into, and the range to help everywhere else.
- You thrive on switching context. Firmware before lunch, a creator call after it, a tool you have never used by the evening, and none of it feels like a distraction.
- You might have trained as a doctor, pharmacist or nurse and want out of the NHS. That counts here. So does whatever you taught yourself on the side.
- You use AI tools properly. Claude Code is your working day, not a demo.
- You would rather ship a rough version today and fix it tonight than a perfect one next month.
- Gut health is something you actually care about, not a line you add for the interview.
How we work
We work a lot. Weekends will go to Suna. We are flexible when life gets in the way, because we are only human, but we are here because we are passionate and we want to win. This will never be a 9-to-5, and we would not want it to be. #WorkHardPlayHard
